The 2022 annual Nuffield Ireland Conference took place on Friday 18th November, 2022 at the Castleknock Hotel, Dublin.
2021 Scholars Ray Ó Foghlú, Alex Eivers, Brendan Crosse and Brian McCarthy reported on topics strongly focused on the potential and sustainability of their sectors. They enthused and engaged our Conference audience with their somewhat niche, but important agricultural topics.
Attendees also heard updates from our 2020 Scholars Robbie Byrne, Gareth Lamberton, Linda O’Neill and Bruce Thompson; our 2022 Scholars Pat Collins, David Dolan, Aoife Feeney and Lance Woods and met for the first time our six newly recruited 2023 Scholars Bryan Daniels, Margaret Edgill, David Fennelly, Thomas Murray, Liagh Whelehan and Gillian Willis.

Attendees also heard from a challenging panel discussion theme “Moving way beyond green washing: developing solutions for a ‘net positive’ agriculture” where farmers, agricultural ecology experts and environmentalists focus together on developing solutions for a ‘net positive’ agriculture.
After the Conference, attendees enjoyed our banquet and networked with some of our 114 Alumni, our Investor representatives and other agri-food stakeholders.
