										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Michael works with the Department of Agriculture and has held a variety of posts in the meat division, farm development service, CAP schemes supervision and now is based in the District Veterinary Office in Tipperary. He has been engaged in part-time farming since 1991 where the main enterprises are beef sucklers and sheep production. He converted to organic farming in 1998 and was involved in setting up the Cahir Farmer’s Market. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">His study topic was <strong>‘The Social and Economic Benefits of Farmers Markets’</strong>. He travelled extensively in the USA, and also travelled to the UK, Spain, Austria, Slovenia, Lebanon, Australia and New Zealand.</span><br />
