										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Bill O’Keeffe is a dairy farmer from Kilkenny. He runs the family dairy enterprise which has expanded significantly over the past 5 years, since the ending of quotas. He studied at Kildalton Agricultural College, and then spent a year working on farms in New Zealand. On his return, he also worked part time with agricultural computers and AI, before working full-time on the family dairy farm.<br />
His study travel was to the USA (Nebraska, Wisconsin), New Zealand, South Africa and the UK.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Bill O’Keeffe is a co-founder of <a href="http://saturnfarms.ie/">Saturn Farms</a>. In 2015, Bill &amp; his wife Audrey partnered with Eoghan O Dwyer to form Saturn Farms. After completing his Green Cert in Kildalton College, Bill travelled to New Zealand to complete his work experience. In 1998 he returned home and leased the family farm from his parents to become the sixth generation of O’Keeffe’s to farm in Conna.</p>
<p>Since then, Bill has grown from farming 150 acres, milking 100 cows with one person employed to co-founding Saturn Farms and now milking over 1,000 cows with a team of 14 in 2018. From 2012 to 2016 Bill was Chairman of Nuffield Ireland and also board member of Nuffield International.</p>
<p>On his Nuffield scholarship, Bill participated on the global focus programme and travelled for 5 months, and visited the United States, Scotland, England, Wales, France, Ukraine, Turkey, Bahrain, India, Malaysia and Australia.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Julian Hughes is currently the managing director of Hughes Farming Ltd, a fully integrated grow, process and supply business in the fresh produce industry that supplies all of the major retail multiples in Ireland and exports to North America, Europe and the UK. Hughes Farming is a Lean Process business that employs over 45 staff in Kilkenny and from a land base of 800 acres is supplying products ranging from carrots, parsnips, onions, pumpkin, daffodils and other fresh produce crops along with approx 200 acres of cereals and forage grass. Hughes Farming was the 2018 Kilkenny Agribusiness and overall Business of the Year.</p>
<p>Previously Julian setup and owned Hughes Consultancy and Training Ltd, an adult education FETAC accredited centre, that he sold in 2014. Julian was a founding partner in a large corporate fund based farming project in Eastern Europe and was involved in numerous corporate consultancy roles in Africa, Russia and Eastern Europe. Julian was the external examiner for agriculture in WIT College and has had research work peer reviewed and published in scientific journals in the past.</p>
<p>Julian has B.Sc and M.Sc Crop Protection and is BASIS and FACTS trained and is a member of the IFA horticulture committee. Married to Valerie, Julian has two children, Robyn and Billy where they live in Kells, Co Kilkenny.</p>
<p>Julian was a 2010 Nuffield scholar studying innovative cropping technology and practices globally with the study becoming more focused on the people who carried out the innovation and also on corporate structures.</p>
