										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>John Tyrrell was Executive Secretary of Nuffield Ireland Farming Scholars from January 2013 to November 2021 and is an Honorary Nuffield Scholar.</p>
<p>From a farming background in County Dublin, he graduated with an Honours Degree in Agriculture from University College Dublin. He then worked with ADAS, in the UK for three years as a Specialist Dairy Adviser.</p>
<p>In 1978, he took up a role in the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society (ICOS) and was CEO from January 1990 until August 2010.</p>
<p>He is Executive Secretary of the Dairy Research Trust which is responsible for the collection and allocation of the dairy levy to dairy production and food research programmes.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>David Dolan is a 2022 Nuffield Scholar. David&#8217;s study topic is “Net zero carbon emissions – challenges and opportunities for farmers and Co-ops”.</p>
<p>From Garrymore near Claremorris, Co Mayo, David is a dairy farmer and director of the family dairy business. He has a B.Sc from the University of Limerick. In the seven years that he has been involved in the family business it has undergone significant development. He also gained experience working on dairy farms in NZ and in Ireland. Further development is planned for his farm business over the next five years. He is actively involved in Discussion Groups and dairy programmes.</p>

<p>Aoife is currently working as an Agricultural Policy Officer for the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dublin, Ireland. She works on bilateral communication between the Netherlands and Ireland on agricultural policy and trade. Aoife previously worked in the Irish Dairy Industry as Farm Sustainability Manager with the Carbery Group. In that role, she supported farmers on a journey of sustainable development. Aoife has a Bachelor’s Degree and Masters in Agricultural Science from University College Dublin.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Pat Collins is a 2022 Nuffield Scholar from Castlemartyr, Co Cork. Pat&#8217;s Nuffield study topic is  ‘The Benefits of Dairy-Beef and Crop Production as an Integrated System’.</p>
<p>Pat is a full-time beef and tillage farmer. His farm is a host farm for the Grass10 campaign and the Greenacres dairy calf to beef programme. Pat was the beef category winner of the Grassland Farmer of the year award 2020. He has started a new business providing a grass measurement service to farmers and another business training and selling point to point horses to race on the track.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Lance Woods is a 2022 Nuffield Scholar from Cootehill, Co Cavan. Lance’s Nuffield research topic is “How can Animal Health positively impact our climate change targets”</p>
<p>Lance will investigate the role of animal health in achieving our environmental goals.</p>
<p>Lance’s primary objectives for his study; How do we reduce emissions through animal health and how to change behaviour/habits/mindset at farm level- what motivates this change? Lance will investigate efficient farming relating to animal health practices, preventative animal health strategies and animal health ag tech. Lance intends to travel to Israel, Netherlands, Canada and the UK during the course of his Nuffield Scholarship.</p>
<p>Lance grew up on a small pedigree cattle and sheep farm, he has been immersed in Irish Agriculture from a young age. Lance is currently a Ruminant Territory Manager with MSD Animal Health Ireland. He has a B.Agr.Sc from UCD and a NOAH Certificate in Animal Health from Harper Adams. Lance obtained his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from DCU in 2018. He has 10 years’ experience in the animal health industry. Lance has experience working with Agricultural Systems across Ireland, UK, Australia and New Zealand.</p>
