Kevin Kilcline Nuffield Scholar 2010

Kevin Kilcline farms on the outskirts of Roscommon town, and has a sheep and forestry enterprise. He is currently a research Economist at the Rural Economy and Development programme, Teagasc, Athenry, and previously worked as a lecturer at the Plant and Agri-Biosciences Centre, National University of Ireland Galway and has held the role of Chief Economist with the Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA).

Kevin’s study looked at the challenges and opportunities facing farmers as profitable stakeholders in the timber, recreation, amenity and energy industries of Ireland, and he travelled to the UK, Finland, Estonia, New Zealand and Australia in the course of his scholarship.
