Padraig Walshe

A Dairy Farmer from Durrow, Co Laois, the late Padraig Washe was awarded a Nuffield Scholar in 1996. He was Chairman of the Irish Scholars from 2004-2006.  Up to his death in February 2023, he chaired Farmer Business Developments plc and continued as a director of FBD. He was former President of IFA (2006-2010), Macra na Feirme (1987-1989) and COPA (EU Farmers Union) (2009-2011).

In a tribute to Padraig and his legacy, Nuffield Ireland will present the first Padraig Walshe Award at the Nuffield Ireland annual conference 2023 to the best returning Nuffield Scholar presentation.
